The Ministry Of Agriculture Is Responsible, Either Directly Or In Coordination With Other Entities Or Through Entities Linked To The Ministry: • Formulate And Direct The Agricultural Policy Of The Country As A Whole, In Accordance With The General Development Plans. • Study, In Collaboration With The National Planning And Coordination Board, The Agricultural Situation Of The Country, And Present The Short- And Long-Term Global Agricultural Plan For Consideration By The Government. • Coordinate The Short- And Long-Term Programs Of The Entities Linked And Related To The Sector. • Approve The Annual Budgets Of The Entities Linked To The Agricultural Sector. • Study The Economic And Social Aspects Of The Production, Distribution And Consumption Of Agricultural Products. • Preserve Renewable Natural Resources, Regulate Their Use, Increase Them And Promote Their Rational Use. • Rationalize The Use Of Land In Accordance With Laws And Techniques. • Promote The Improvement Of Agricultural Technology, As Well As Train Professional And Non-Professional Personnel. • Approve And Supervise The Programs Of Vocational Agricultural Schools. • Provide Technical Assistance And Make Recommendations On Credit Policy. • Prevent And Control Pests And Diseases Of Animals And Plants. • Promote And Carry Out Scientific Research In The Agricultural Field. • Promote Agricultural Production. • Study The Possibilities Of Export And Import Substitution Of Agricultural Products And Formulate The Policy In This Regard. • Know All Matters Related To The Agricultural Development Of The Nation. • Regulate The Conservation Of Water. • Collaborate With The Corresponding Agency In The Use And Distribution Of Irrigation Water. • Give Pertinent Recommendations On The Development Of Irrigable Areas. • Determine And Indicate To The Corresponding Agencies The Priorities In The Construction Of Local Roads. • Conduct Studie
