The Agency has worked in recent years to develop its expertise in water desalination, the production of clean energy and the availability of new information technologies, thus opening up promising horizons for populations. To do this, the Agency benefits from delegated project management and manages, on behalf of the State in accordance with the law, the Universal Access Fund, funded by fees from private operators in the telecom sector and dedicated to make up for the lack of international funding for rural and semi-urban areas. APAUS, an independent body with legal personality and financial autonomy, must in particular rely on this fund as a lever to attract private investment and reduce the weight of the public contribution, through the implementation of adequate management mechanisms, in consultation with the multi-sectoral regulatory authority.
