Description - Description: SuedOstLink is a network expansion project that is planned as an underground cable connection by the two transmission system operators TenneT TSO GmbH and 50Hertz GmbH and is being implemented with a voltage level of 525 kV (direct curre nt). The federal government has decided on the need for SuedOstLink and has enshrined it in the Federal Requirements Plan Act as projects V5 and V5a. Project V5 runs between Wolmirstedt in Saxony-Anhalt and ISAR near Landshut. It was passed by the Bundestag in 2015 and included in the Federal Requirements Plan Act with a transmission capacity of 2 gigawatts.
