Description - Description: The Aarau City Library is located in the "Hübscherhaus" at Graben 15, 5000 Aarau on plot no. 1798. The building was built in 1780 and declared a listed building by the Swiss Confederation and the Canton of Aargau in 1963. In 1968 it was moved fifty meters to its current location. In 1999/2000 the building was converted to its current state, with public areas on the 1st basement to 2nd floor, administration on the 3rd floor (top floor), and catering on the ground floor. With the extension of opening hours, the city library will become an "open library" and will also be accessible when there is no staff in the building.
