Description - Description: In the run-up to the update of the Sigma Plan in 2005 (Sigma 2.0), areas were demarcated that were suitable for designation as a flood area (the potential flood areas or POG). This demarcation was preceded by an environmental analysis an d a sectoral analysis. The demarcated areas were ranked on the basis of several criteria according to the extent to which their layout can be considered socially acceptable and sustainable. These demarcated POG were used as building blocks in the various alternatives that were calculated for the update of the Sigma plan.
