Description - Description: Bed erosion occurs on the Elbe in the transition area between the upper and middle reaches from El-km 120 to 290.7. The bed of the Elbe deepens in the so-called erosion section, depending on the existing geomorphological conditions, to v arying degrees, in places up to 2 cm/year.The erosion is a result of the lack of natural bed load from upstream. The water transports more bed load than is supplied to it and uses the bed of the respective section.
