Description - Description: The SMELD (State-of-the-art METal MElting Limiting waste during D&D) project is an initiative to develop a smelter for melting contaminated metals from the nuclear industry, including those from decommissioned nuclear facilities. The pro ject aims to expand the radiological acceptance criteria at the oven entrance compared to current industry standards.As part of this project it is necessary to obtain operating permits from the relevant Belgian authorities.
