Description - Description: Part IX of the NHS Drug Tariff Drug Tariff Part IX | NHSBSA lists medical devices (also known as appliances) that are appropriate for prescription outside of a hospital setting – for example, wound care products, stoma bags and cathete rs. As part of the application for Part IX, NHS Prescription Services determines where on the Drug Tariff the appliance is listed. Following a consultation that took place between October 2023 and January 2024, the Department of Health and Social Care are updating the way medical devices listed on Part IX of the Drug Tariff are categorised and assessed.
