Description - Description: The digital knot Stuttgart (DKS) is a pilot project in the starter package of the digital rail Germany (DSD). The aim of the DSD program is the modernization of leading and security technology (LST) throughout Germany. The DKS comprises the equipment of the network districts Stuttgart and Plochingen with around 500 kilometers of route. For the first time in Germany, a large railway node is equipped with digital signal boxes (DStW) and the European Train Control System (ETCS) Level 2.
