Description - Description: Instabilities occur along the right bank of the Scheldt at Kwatrecht, Wetteren. The existing banks are subsiding and sliding. The main cause of these instabilities can be found in the presence of the Merelbeke Member. This is a soft clay layer that is several meters thick on parts of the right bank.
