Description - Description: After considering various options, the DWD decided to introduce two different types of LIDAR measuring device (Doppler LIDAR and water vapor DIAL) at 13 locations in Germany and thus further develop the DWD's warning system.Using LIDAR m easuring technology, meteorological profile data is obtained in greater temporal and spatial density than has previously been the case. This increased temporal and spatial availability of the data serves primarily to more accurately determine the initial state in numerical weather prediction (NWV) and thus to improve weather forecasts and warnings of severe weather.For this reason, 13 Doppler lidar systems are now to be procured.For the delivery
