Description - Description: Since 2010, the ECB has been implementing an environmental management system (EMS) in accordance with the international standard ISO 14001: 2015 and Regulation (EC) No. 1221/2009, changed by the regulation (EU) 2017/1505 and 2018/2026. T he priority of the ECB is still to avoid greenhouse gas emissions wherever possible, and to limit emissions in areas where they cannot be avoided. In cases where emissions cannot be limited and the greenhouse gas emissions cannot currently be reduced to zero, the ECB has decided to compensate for its greenhouse gas emissions, expressed in tons of CO2 equivalent, as a supplementary measure to their climate protection efforts (2021: 16 023.2 tons o
