Description - Description: Antimicrobial resistance (AMR) is a global public health problem that threatens the achievements of universal health coverage and the Sustainable Development Goals. AMR is driven by numerous complex factors; however, the leading causes a re attributed to overuse and misuse of antimicrobials. Measuring and analysing the consumption of antimicrobials provides critical information for the development of policies and strategies to strengthen antimicrobial stewardship. Thereof, antimicrobial consumption (AMC) surveillance is a priority area of the Framework for Accelerating Action to Fight Antimicrobial Resistance in the Western Pacific Region.
