EXPRESSION OF INTEREST Name of the Project: ViSTAR Activity: Documentation of 15 evidence-based impact stories: Climate Change, Resilient Agriculture & Impact of Adaptation Practices Context: Indo-Global Social Service Society (IGSSS) is a non-profit organization working with the mandate for the humane social order based on truth, justice, freedom and equity. Established in 1960, IGSSS works for development, capacity building and enlightenment of vulnerable communities across the country for their effective participation in development. IGSSS is implementing a project titled ViSTAR Village Strengthening through Adaptation and Resilience (ViSTAR) for Building Climate Resilient Villages and Adaptive capacity of the small and marginal farmers. The programme focuses on demonstration of climate resilient interventions through CRV models (weather, carbon, water, and energy) by linking with GPDP and other programmes. Seed and Crop Management, Drought Tolerant Kharif and Legume based Rabi crops and Agro forest models. Soil nutrition management-Promotion of zero tillage, mulching, FYM, Soil testing and apply of FYM and compost, Promotion of crop residue mulching. Water Management- Water Harvesting, Broad bed furrow, trench, landscape planning. Energy Management- Energy Saving interventions (Solar pump sets and other solutions, smokeless oven, Minimum tillage) and Weather management. IGSSS invites Expressions of Interest from individual/group consultant/consultants for documentation of 10-15 evidence-based impact stories: Climate Change, Resilient Agriculture & Impact of Adaptation Practices. The process will be started from 10th August 2023 and will be completed by 10th September 2023. Interested consultants/institutions are requested to send in their detailed budget plan along with CV hr@igsss.net by 30th July 2023. Also sharing documents of any such earlier study conducted by the consultant. Eligibility: The consultant should have; Expertise in Process Documentation. Experience in developing participatory planning using PRA tools. Experience in project impact evaluation, appreciative inquiry process, on community development plan and Gram Panchayat Development Plan. Excellent analytical and drafting skill. Objective of documentation of evidence based best practices: Documentation of 15 evidence-based impact stories focused on Climate Resilient Agriculture & Impact of Adaptation Practices at household, community and farm level. The success stories will cover different good practices related to climate resilient farming like soil smart, water smart, crop smart, carbon/ energy smart and knowledge smart farming. The impact stories will cover critical reflection of issues and challenges of climate change/ crisis faced by the farmers/ community, process and steps of climate resilient practices adopted by them and evidence of result seen. Process & Methodology The consultant will visit different project villages/ models of Yavatmal district (Maharashtra) of Vidarbha Region, Mahoba (UP), Panna & Chhatra (MP) of Bundelkhand region and discuss with farmers, community institution leaders and different stakeholders for documentation of best practices. Location Project villages of Lavkushnagar and Ajayagarh block of MP, Kabari block of Uttar Pradesh, Deuli block of Wardha and Babulgaon block of Maharashatra. Each stories reflected peoples led planning, execution and monitoring with critical reflection on issues and challenges of climate change/ crisis faced by the farmers/ community, process and steps of climate resilient practices adopted by them and evidence of result seen.
