Description - Description: The City of Surrey is undergoing a police model transition from RCMP municipal policing to establishing its own Municipal Police Department (MPD). The MPD that will provide policing on behalf of the City is the Surrey Police Service (SPS ).Before the SPS can become the City's police of jurisdiction (POJ) per s.3(2) of the Police Act, the Surrey Police Board and SPS must demonstrate to the Province that SPS has satisfied the practical and statutory requirements to operate as its POJ .
