Description - METIS is a mathematical model that simulates the operation of the European systems and markets for electricity and gas on an hourly basis over a year. The addition of hydrogen as an energy carrier has made it possible to use the model in the impact a nalysis for revised gas markets and the hydrogen directive as well as for regulation. Further ongoing developments aim at better integration of demand across supply sectors and greater regional granularity.
