Description - Description: FLASH radiotherapy (RT) is an innovative technique that delivers radiation at ultra-high dose rates (UHDT, >40 Gy/s) and shows promising results in preclinical studies. With UHDT, the tumor can be treated while sparing the surrounding he althy tissue. In a single session, the device delivers a very high dose of radiation in fractions of a second with the high precision that is characteristic for the treatment of tumors up to 6 cm deep.This project focuses on the mechanisms of FLASH, optimization of radiotherapy and its clinical implementation.
