Description - Description: The study area is located in the Prignitz district, east of the Breese village, directly on the main course of the Stepenitz. The village of Breese is located on the left edge of the Stepenitz lowlands and about 3 km as the crow flies fr om the Elbe; the Weisen village is on the right. As compensation for construction-related interventions in nature and the landscape in connection with the dike construction project "Flood protection in the Breese village", two oxbows were connected to the Lower Stepenitz between Breese and Weisen in the Prignitz district in spring 2023.
