Description - The activity is structured on three pillars: design and development of a unified GNSS and 5G Advanced testbed, basic research into 6G localization, and 3GPP standardisation work. To continue, it covers a number of standardization and R&D activities t o be performed: engineering support during 3GPP Release 19, Release 20 and preparation for beyond, carry out engineering trade-offs to foster the combined use of 5G Advanced and GNSS for precise and reliable localization, and design a concept for 6G PNT based on a number of candidate enabling technologies and architectures recommended by ESA (e.g., NTN, THz, etc.).
