Description - Description: Wageningen Marine Research (WMR), part of the Wageningen Research Foundation, carries out an annual shellfish monitoring programme commissioned by the Ministry of Agriculture, Nature and Fisheries (LNV). This monitoring takes place in th e Dutch coastal waters (Wadden Sea, North Sea, Western Scheldt and Eastern Scheldt, Grevelingenmeer and Veerse Meer). The monitoring serves to determine stock sizes of commercial shellfish species, on the basis of which the fisheries policy can be determined and evaluated.
