Description - Description: The issue of drought is becoming increasingly important and has now also reached the cooperation agenda between Germany and the Netherlands. The INTERREG project DIWA (Drought Strategies in Water Management) aims to develop and implement a cross-border approach to combating droughts. The partners involved are working towards better coordination between the responsible authorities in Germany and the Netherlands. The aim is to intensify cooperation in dealing with droughts and to develop joint strategies to better manage the effects of drought periods. One work package in DIWA includes the implementation of area pilot projects in which measures to combat droughts are to be tested
