Description - Description: NC State University’s Sea Grant and Biological & Agricultural Engineering (BAE) Departments (hereafter referred to as university) seeks proposals for the construction of a 2-acre irrigation pond and 15-acre water farming system at the Caswell Research Farm, which is owned and operated by the NC Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services, and is located near the corner of Hull Rd and Goodson Boulevard in Kinston, N.C. The purpose of the project is to develop a research and demonstration site for the temporary storage and reuse of water as a strategy for mitigating downstream flooding, improving water quality and increasing crop productivity.
