Description - Description: ewz has been operating a three-stage, horizontal-axis 30 MW storage pump with a feeder pump made by Escher Wyss in the Löbbia power plant since 1967. This pumps water from the Löbbia equalization basin into the Albigna reservoir, which is located approximately 700 m higher. A new Löbbia storage pump and an additional redundant shut-off device are to be evaluated, designed, procured and put into operation.
