Description - Description: Since 2008, the Central Animal Testing Service (CDP), part of the University Medical Center Groningen (UMCG), has been using three sterilizers, with a fourth added in 2024.These devices, which are maintained by the UMCG/Medical Technolog y department, suffer from outdated and difficult to replace parts. The current systems work on the basis of steam, but with the announced phasing out of the central steam supply in the UMCG by 2028, and the increasing maintenance problems, a sustainable and reliable replacement is necessary.
