Description - Description: During the Second World War, an underground military ammunition depot was built in Mitholz BE. In 1947, some of the stored ammunition exploded. The risk assessment of the remaining ammunition depot carried out at the time was classified as non-critical. New risk assessments from 2018 and 2020 have shown a higher risk than previously assumed. On December 4, 2020, the Federal Council decided to clear the former ammunition depot and commissioned an expanded project organization to plan and design the corresponding work.
