Description - Description: NASA Langley Research Center (LaRC) has a requirement for a long lead replacement for a BEP type Heat Exchanger (HEX), specifically for the cold compander component at the LaRC B1241 LN2 Plant. Size: 22312 SB111 90/10 CuNi Tubes and CS T ubesheets (Strength Weld) to ASME Code. Sever corrosion (a known issue in LN2 plant cooling water systems) has seized the tube bundle to the shell. The corrosion affects the HEXs ability to adequately cool product. The project is needed because operating temperatures are at an alarm level (not to trip level).
