The lighthouse station is a coastal lighthouse that was established in 1832. Oksøy lighthouse and the area around it are prote cted. The wooden pier was established at the end of 1980 for the mooring of smaller boats for the Coastal Administration and visitors. In recent years, the wooden piers have suffered significant damage to their foundations.
