Description - Description: FIMS aims to provide spatially explicit fishery-independent catch rate estimates of both legal and undersized (pre-recruit) rock lobsters.The FIMS design consists of five (5) surveys totaling twenty-nine (29) transects, running from insh ore (~10m depth) to offshore (~120m depth) grounds.Lobster pots are set on predetermined locations on day one (1) and hauled in the following day with catch and biological data recorded. Data is used to provide spatially explicit fishery-independent catch rate estimates of both legal and undersized (pre-recruit) rock lobsters which are compared to those from fishery-dependent logbook sources. Lobsters are tagged and returned to the water unharmed
