Description - Description: DB Netz AG plans to award the contract for the expansion and new construction over a length of around 31 km in the PfA 7.2, 7.3 and 7.4 areas of StA 7. The motorway parallel route (NBS) is scheduled to accommodate all freight traffic and will cross two Natura 2000 areas. In order to be able to handle long-distance and local traffic, the existing Rhine Valley railway is to be upgraded to 250 km/h and overtaking tracks are to be built where necessary.
