Description - Description: The Region of Waterloo (Region) has identified the need to rehabilitate the historic West Montrose Covered Bridge that was built in 1881. A Schedule ‘C’ Environmental Assessment was undertaken and the preferred alternative includes r emoving the existing steel Bailey trusses and strengthening the existing wooden trusses to achieve a 10 tonne design live load capacity. The project also includes repairs to the pier and abutments, including in-water work for the placement of scour protection.The Region issued PQ2024-15 in November 2024 for the pre-qualification of General Contractors and Timber Subcontractors for this project.The Region is reopening the pre-qualification opportu
