Description - Description: Tuberculosis (TB) remains a public health threat in Lao PDR with WHO in 2023 estimating approximately 10,000 new and relapsed cases (132/100,000 incidence rate) and 1,100 TB deaths (11% TB case fatality ratio), while the TB treatment cov erage rate reached 90% (9,124 TB cases notified). Regarding the HIV situation, in 2023 there was an estimated 17,972 persons living with HIV/AIDS (PLHIV), among them 15,028 (84%) PLHIV were still alive, 11,697 (78%) were retained on ARV treatment and 9,447 (95%) were viral load suppressed.
