Description - Description: During the ongoing maintenance of our two historic six-axle electric locomotives Ge 6/6 I, cracks were discovered in the wheel bodies last season and were subsequently taken out of service. According to EN 15085-6, cracks in wheels may n ot be welded. Furthermore, traces of previous welding repair attempts suggest that further repair welding will not lead to a permanent solution to the problem.
