Description - Within the NFI (CFS department) a need has arisen for a new MA-XRF scanner to supplement the current MA-XRF instrument. The current instrument has been written off and is becoming less reliable, while the frequency with which the instrument is used i n (case) investigations is increasing. The new system is needed to increase research capacity and increase the availability of this technique. This means more case research and R&D can be carried out. The new MA-XRF scanner will be able to perform measurements faster and with a higher resolution thanks to a new generation of X-ray optics and new detectors.
