Since the entry into force of the "Soil Decree", a soil study mus t be carried out by a "soil expert" when renewing the Environmental Permit on sites presenting a risk to the soil (article 24 §2 of the Decree). Following the publication of the Decree of the Walloon Executive Government of 27 September 2018, sections 90.16 "urban wastewater treatment plant" and 90.17 "industrial wastewater treatment plant" are classified as installations presenting a risk to the soil.
