Maharashtra State Power Generation Company (MAHAGENCO)
has invited bids for installing and commissioning a 62 MW grid-connected
solar power project with the associated HT (high-tension) overhead
transmission line, underground cable, and electrical equipment in the Akola
district of Maharashtra.
The successful bidder will also have to construct bays up to the point of
interconnection at 220 kV bays at the Paras substation and operate and
maintain the project for five years.
The last date to submit the bids online is June 1, 2023. Bids will be opened
the following day.
Bidders will have to submit ₹6.2 million (~$75,744) as an earnest money
deposit. The successful bidder must furnish an amount equivalent to 10% of
the contract value as a performance bank guarantee within seven days from
the date of the issuance of the letter of award.
Bidders should have executed ground-mounted solar power projects having a
cumulative installed capacity of 25 MW or higher, out of which a single
solar project of 12 MW or higher capacity should have been operational for
at least six months before the bid opening date.
They should have operation and maintenance experience of a solar project
with the same technology as offered in the bid for a minimum capacity of 12
MW for at least six months prior to the bid opening date.
Alternatively, bidders should have executed in the last ten years an
industrial project either as a developer or an engineering, procurement, and
construction contractor in the area of power, steel, oil, gas,
petrochemical, cement, coal mining, or any other process industry, with 220
kV power line connectivity for a value of at least ₹1.25 billion (~$15.27
million) or more in a single project.

The net worth of bidders as of the last day of the previous financial
year should be positive.
The average annual turnover of bidders during the last three financial
years should be at least ₹2.35 billion (~$28.71 million). If a
consortium submits the bid, the turnover requirement is to be met by the
lead member of the consortium.
According to tender documents, solar modules to be used in
grid-connected solar power projects must be warranted for output
wattage, which should not be less than 90% at the end of 12 years and
80% at the end of 25 years.
The manufacturing date of all modules to be used in the project should
not be more than 12 months prior to the date of transfer of ownership to
MAHAGENCO.
Earlier, MAHAGENCO had invited bids
for the design, engineering, manufacture, supply, erection, and
commissioning of a 25 MW grid-connected solar power project with
associated 33 kV evacuation lines in the Dhule district of Maharashtra.
According to Mercom’s India
Solar Tender Tracker, MAHAGENCO has so far floated tenders for about
4.65 GW of solar power projects.
