Description - Description: The scheme is located approximately 7km south-east of the M7 Nenagh Bypass and involves improvement of approximately 4.3km of the existing R498 route of which approximately 1.8km will be off-line realignment and the remaining 2.4km will involve on-line improvements.The proposed cross-section is a Type 2 Single Carriageway with shared footway/cycle track which consists of 7m carriageway, 0.5m hard strips, with a minimum 2.5m wide verge (excluding hard strip). A shared footway/cycle track is proposed along the length of the scheme, utilising sections of the old road alignment and within the proposed verge along one side of the road.
