Description - Description: The Winznau dam near Olten was built between 1914 and 1917 and is part of the Gösgen run-of-river power plant (KWG) of Alpiq Hydro Aare AG. It channels the Aare into the 4.8 km long headwater canal to the machine house in Niedergösgen. As part of the new concession, renovation work on the existing structure (dam) and a new feeder power plant with an installed capacity of approx. 1.2 MW are planned.
