Description - Description: The Lauenburg lock was built by the Wasserstraßen- und Seilfahrbeutschraffärfahrafauf Lauenburg as a replacement building of the old Hotoppsche Schleuse Lauenburg and opened in 2006.It is located at KM 60.175 in the Elbe-Lübeck Canal (ELK) and represents the transition to the Elbe. The lock chamber has a short length of 115m with a chamber width of 12.50m. Depending on the water levels of the Elbe, the fall height is 3.91m and a maximum of 4.85m. The Obertor is designed as a rotary segment gate. It is powered by a hydraulic cycle.
