Description | February 26, 2024 Expression of Interest Atlas of Climate Adaptation in South Asian Agriculture (ACASA) About Borlaug Institute for South Asia (BISA) BISA is an international research institute established in October 2011 through a joint initiative between the International Maize and Wheat Improvement Centre (CIMMYT) and the Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR), New Delhi, to implement the vision of Norman E. Borlaug. It is a non-profit international research institute dedicated to food, nutrition, livelihood security, and environmental rehabilitation in South Asia. Project Overview The Atlas of Climate Adaptation in South Asian Agriculture (ACASA) is a collaborative initiative between BISA, several South Asian national agricultural research system (NARES) to provide a comprehensive web-based interactive platform for understanding climate risks and facilitating adaptive options in the South Asian region. This document outlines the scope, objectives of the Atlas to cater to various stakeholders. EOI BISA is inviting proposals from the interested companies/institutions/individuals to develop a webGIS enabled dashboard for multiple levels of stakeholders with varied skill sets. It should include: Enhanced data visualization of multiple layers of gridded risks and climate adaptation options Comprehensive data management functions, including data upload/ download facilities, Reporting and analytics tools (including on the fly calculations), Development of specific use case versions, and Country-specific implementation, Ownership transfer of the dashboard with necessary training and documentation to country partners. The project primarily should use cloud-optimized geotiff raster, GeoJSON vector flies with multiple micro-open-source services. Interested companies/institutions/individuals should submit by 15th March 2024 their EoI detailing their interest, profile of key individuals likely to be involved in the development and testing of this project, previous related work experience with active links, if any, a list of clients in the similar field, and an outline of steps/tools/techniques that will be used to implement the current project. The submitted proposals will be evaluated by BISA’s technical committee and a short list of suitable vendors will be invited to submit detailed technical and financial proposals for evaluation by the committee. The selected vendor will be expected to start the work by 30th April. Sealed EoI with the subject “Expression of interest: ACASA Atlas Development” (> 5 pages) should be sent to the following address on/ before 15 March 2024.
