RFP FOR A MEDIA CONSUMPTION STUDY FOR RESPECTFUL MATERNITY CARE
Background
Respectful Maternity Care (RMC) is a universal human right that is due to every childbearing woman in every health system around the world. RMC is an integral part of Quality of Care and is being increasingly recognized internationally as a critical aspect of the maternal and newborn health agenda.
The Centre for Catalyzing Change (C3) is a non-profit organization dedicated to empowering girls and women in India, with the goal of achieving gender equality. Our vision is to create a future where Indian girls and women have full access to their rights and opportunities and realize gender equality.C3 has been advocating for RMC in India and has been leading efforts to ensure that it is recognized as a core component of quality of care and as a basic human right for all childbearing women around the world.
A project is being implemented that will generate evidence on agency and effective social and behavior change strategies to convert intention into action to improve health. Under this project, C3 will be working with select healthcare facilities in India to institutionalize Respectful Maternity Care as a standard of care. For this, C3 will design and implement interventions at both the health facility level as well as the level of communities.C3 will implement this intervention in 5 healthcare facilities in 3 states of India.Towards the same, C3 is looking to conduct a media consumption study to inform the effective dissemination and uptake of the social behaviour change intervention it will develop.
The timeline for conducting the study is 30-45 days.
Scope of Work – We are seeking a competent individual/agency to:
Develop a qualitative tool to assess media consumption patterns among women of childbearing age and healthcare providers in catchment areas.
Travel to three states and conduct focus group discussions and in depth interviews with women who deliver in these facilities, community influencers and health care providers based on these tools.
Conduct facility and community observations to identify strategic opportunities for display of IEC material and other components of the intervention implementation including ambient media etc
Identify the type of messaging required to effectively engage with stakeholders including mediums engagement (digital or otherwise)
Analysis of data collected and presentation of report to C3
Target audience:Healthcare providers – doctors and nurses – from selected facilities, women of childbearing age, community influencers and public-at-large from predefined catchment areas.
Who are we looking for? An Agency:
Should possess a strong track record of conducting landscape analysis studies.
Has experience with market research/media utilisation studies
Can conducted qualitive interviews and effectively analysis and present the data to feed into intervention development
Can work on a tight deadline
Process for Applications:Interested agencies are requested to submit a comprehensive proposal, including a detailed proposal, cost estimation and team profiles. The agency shortlisted based on the work submitted will be briefed and asked to pitch.The project will be granted to the agency that receives the maximum scores from the C3 team.
