We develop and implement high-impact, sustainable, and locally-owned public health initiatives. Project Overview Despite many uncertainties about the future of the pandemic and COVID-19 vaccination, it is crucial to plan for sustainable COVID-19 vaccination as an integral part of routine immunization and primary health care. This integration is best sustainable when the existing platforms are leveraged, and the scope is well aligned with the policies and vision of the national government. The ultimate aim is to fully explore potential areas for integrating different components of immunization programs and primary health care for improved awareness and uptake of vaccinations (both COVID-19 and RI). Under the CDS third funding window of GAVI, JSIPL will support the GoI in the integration of COVID19 vaccine delivery with routine immunization by leveraging the existing platform of the School Health & Wellness Programme (under the Ayushman Bharat Scheme) for increasing awareness about vaccination among the school students in India. JSIPL aims to develop a textbook chapter on the ‘Importance of immunization including COVID 19’ in the NCERT course curriculum with an ultimate outcome of increasing awareness regarding vaccination among the general masses in the country. The scope of this assignment is to support the JSIPL in the development of a high-quality textbook chapter on the importance of vaccination and immunization including COVID-19. This will include conducting baseline assessment (Pre-test) during September 2023 and end line (Post-test) assessment respectively. The endline assessment timelines will be decided subjected to the completion of the baseline assessment, content development for the chapter, its roll out and trainings, depending upon the decision of MoHFW to evaluate the effectiveness of the intervention. The findings of these assessments will help facilitate awareness regarding vaccination (Routine immunization and COVID19) for health promotion among students, teachers, and parents.
