Brief about ChildFund ChildFund in India, a child development organization, has been working with children, youth and families experiencing deprivation, exclusion, and vulnerability from the most remote, and hard-to reach areas in India, since 1951, with a vision to build “an India where children lead a dignified life and achieve their full potential”. ChildFund in India works in the rural belts of the country, now slowly expanding its focus to urban locations too, where child development and wellbeing related issues are prevalent. Its programs provide comprehensive support to children from their birth until they reach 24 years of age by integrating health, nutrition, sanitation, gender equality, disability, education, skill enhancement, livelihoods, child protection and humanitarian relief and resilience building work or Disaster Risk Management (DRM). ChildFund in India reaches approx. 5 million children, youth, and their families across the country annually through its long term programs. ChildFund in India has had an unparalleled longstanding community presence, long term partnership with grassroots NGOs and relations with relevant stakeholders ensuring that its holistic interventions foster an enabling environment where children can grow to achieve their fullest potential. Currently, it works in 78 districts across 12 states and one Union Territory of India. Our Approach The Life Cycle approach focusses children based on their age and targeting them with a comprehensive package of services across sectors that aim at their overall development.
