Request for proposal on developing Situation Analysis Study Report on “G-SAFE+: Generating Safe Areas For Everyone, Including LGBTIQ+ Communities in Eastern India” About CINI CINI is a registered non-profit non-government organization (NGO) registered under the Societies Registration Act in India. We work with over 1900 Indian professionals. We are guided by a Governing Body composed of experienced Indian practitioners, academics, and administrators. Founded in 1974 by pediatrician, Dr. Samir Chaudhuri, CINI is located in Kolkata (former Calcutta), West Bengal, India, and runs operations in the states of West Bengal, Jharkhand and Odisha, assisting about 7 million people. We have been the recipient of prestigious awards and recognitions in India and around the world. About the Project CINI is currently developing a project which aims to create a positive impact and improve living conditions for all urban poor communities, enabling them to live with dignity. By addressing the unique challenges faced by these communities, the project aims to create improved and harmonious living conditions for all groups within the urban poor. Specifically, the project targets women, girls, children, youths, and transgender individuals residing in urban and suburban slums and squatter colonies across three cities. Through a comprehensive approach, the project will seek to provide these communities with enhanced access to essential resources such as healthcare, education, and livelihood opportunities. By addressing the hostile internal and external social environment that often hampers their progress, the project will aim to break down barriers and empower individuals to thrive. One crucial aspect of the project will be gender sensitization. By engaging various urban communities and institutions, the project will endeavour to challenge and overcome unjust social practices that disproportionately affect girls, women, and members of the LGBTIQ communities. This sensitization process will be designed to foster a more inclusive and equitable environment that respects the rights and dignity of all individuals. Youth empowerment is another important aspect of the project. By equipping young individuals, regardless of their gender identity, with the necessary qualifications and skills, the project will aim to open doors for meaningful career opportunities. This initiative not only contributes to bridging the gender divide but also seeks to empower young people to shape their futures and become agents of change within their communities. Furthermore, the project will focus on expanding women's career options. By providing women with the opportunity to pursue non-traditional career paths, the project will aim to challenge societal norms and promote gender equality. Through this initiative, women will be encouraged to explore diverse career options, enabling them to broaden their choices and overcome traditional gender limitations. Additionally, the project will strive to improve access to entitlements for multiple families residing in specific urban communities. This includes facilitating access to essential services related to health, education for children, and Water, Sanitation, and Hygiene (WASH) facilities. By enhancing access to these fundamental entitlements, the project will seek to uplift families, improve their overall well-being, and contribute to the development of more resilient and thriving communities. In summary, the project will encompass a comprehensive approach to empower and uplift urban poor communities. By addressing social injustices, providing education and career opportunities, and improving access to essential services, the project will aim to create a more equitable and inclusive society where all individuals can lead dignified lives. Scope of Work CINI wants to develop a detailed report on analysing the initial situation of 03 project location: Kolkata, Bhubaneswar, Ranchi. The overall aim of the study is to investigate the project’s contextual environment and its opportunities and risks in order to point out concrete recommendations for improving the project proposal, including objectives, strategies, measures, and activities. Therefore, the key objective of the study is an evaluation of the project’s feasibility by systematically shedding light on whether the proposed outputs and activities will support reaching the project’s aims and objectives under the given circumstances. On this basis, CINI and all stakeholders involved may adapt the project proposal in order to increase the project’s effectiveness, mitigate risks, and prevent unprofitable investments.
