Description - Description: Hurricane Helene winds damaged approximately 25 acres on Roan Mountain and has increased the fuel loading in the spruce-fir ecosystem. Work includes cutting and removing all damaged trees within the cutting unit boundary totaling 25 acre s. Sawtimber, pulpwood and biomass products will be removed from the site. Including trees chunked to open the Toll House Gap Road. Sawtimber, pulpwood, and biomass will be removed and paid at an appraised rate on a weighted average. Contractor will be required to leave some amount of stems per acre with no branches for woody debris.
