Description - Description: The NMI is developing a CD4-specific tracer for use in clinical positron emission tomography (CD4-PET tracer). The CD4-PET tracer is composed of a single-domain antibody (sdAb) and a chelator for absorbing a radionuclide. The CD4-PET tra cer binds specifically to human CD4 and has no cross-reactivity with murine CD4. CD4-PET tracer has been extensively characterized in preclinical models with CD4-humanized mice for biodistribution behavior and target cell specificity and sensitivity. In in vitro studies, the non-radioactively labeled precursor molecule was tested for activation and inhibition of target cell functions.
