Description - Description: The Rijsenhout WWTP was decommissioned in 2017. After the company ceased operations, a soil survey was carried out. This showed that increased concentrations of PFAS were found in the soil and groundwater on the site. The extent and loca tions of the contamination were mapped out and shared with the Environmental Service. At the request of the Environmental Service, we must remediate the site. Remediation involves removing or cleaning the soil by excavation and cleaning the groundwater to the legally permitted background values. In doing so, we comply with the law and regulations.
