Description - Description: Public Health Ontario (PHO) has a requirement for the supply of Sodium Acetate-Acetic Acid-Formalin (SAF) transport medium and Cary Blair (CB) transport medium for use in specimen transportation kits. The specimen transportation kits are distributed across the province to physicians, hospitals, and health clinics for the collection and submission of clinical specimens to PHO laboratories for clinical testing. Sodium Acetate-Acetic Acid-Formalin (SAF) transport medium is used to preserve fecal specimens for routine clinical testing of intestinal parasites. Cary Blair transport medium is used to preserve fecal specimens for routine clinical testing of bacterial enteric pathogens.T
