Description - Description: The DLR builds and operates the Wind energy research park Krummendeich Wivaldi. At this research park at the mouth of the Elbe, two enercon wind turbines and a total of four flanking measurement masts for research purposes were already i n operation. The research park is now being expanded by a third modular wind turbine, the so -called opus 3 of the type DLR500.50.The design of this wind turbine is based on the SG500.54 small series system and was further developed in the project "Expturb - Design of an Experimental Turbine" (funding number: 0325613, project documentation (DLR.de)).
