Description - Description: I. BACKGROUND1. The Department of Transportation (DOTr) of the Philippines has requested ADB to support the Davao High Priority Bus System (HPBS) project. The project will establish a modern public bus transport system in Davao City, the 3rd largest city in the Philippines with modern buses (Electric and Euro 5 Diesel Buses) across 29 routes with a total route network of 672 km, operating on over 580 km of roads, traversing the entirety of the city. The project is part of the efforts of the Department of Transportation (DOTr) to improve the public transport system in the Philippines by creating a reliable, safe, and comfortable passenger experience and by reducing air pollutants
