Description - Town of Whitewood Lagoon Upgrades Synopsis: The Town of Whitewood is located 175 km east of Regina along the Trans-Canada #1 Hwy. It has a population of 944 (Census 2021.) The Town of Whitewood was approved for funding by ICIP and is undertaking an u pgrade to its lagoon. The total project cost is anticipated to be no more than $3,210,000.The current lagoon is undersized and has experienced active seepage along the north berm for the past few years. Previously, the Town attempted to remediate the area by excavating a narrow trench within the berm and backfilling it with bentonite clay to form a cut-off wall. This attempt was unsuccessful.
